Our Applied Karate Classes

Adult Karate
These classes teach the fundamentals of applied karate, using a mixture of Wado Ryu & Jiu Jitsu techniques. Here the practitioner will learn the basics of striking & kicking, escapes, take-downs, & how to protect yourself from the ground.
These classes also include knowing your rights & obligations under the law, as well as how to avoid conflict, with "scenario training" to build your confidence & keep you safe.
Beginner classes are starting all the time, there is no bad time to begin training!
Youth Karate
These classes for teens aged 12 and up are focused on providing a fun & safe environment in which to explore martial arts. Here we use a variety of games & skill training exercises to keep teens active, while learning basic karate skills.
Karate is a great way to build self-confidence & looks great on university & job applications.
All of our youth instructors are First Aid trained, and have gone through a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) with the Toronto Police Services.
Women's Self Defence
This class is a subset of the main karate class, but focuses more on the specific skills needed to protect yourself from being assaulted.
These self defence classes are run in 6 week cycles, allowing the practitioner to expand her skills, knowledge & confidence with each cycle.
In general, women in this class are partnered with other women, unless the practitioner specifically requests a male partner.
